Developers working hard on first version, programming one of the most awesome mods for Euro Truck Simulator 2 - A Multiplayer mod!
To keep everybody happy till the first beta-release, there will be a monthly Info update's. This is the first one.
So here are some of the plans for the first release:
Release date
Planned release date is second part of this year (2013).
Servers
For the first release, there will be only 1 global server(If we need more slots we can connect more servers). Mods are disabled, there's no way to sync it. AI traffic will also be disabled (Very hard to sync without using a lot of bandwidth).
In 0.1 lan feature will be added (Hamachi too supported), you need to host game using client option called "Host LAN Game" to setup it. You will see small configuration window with editbox to change lan game name, checkbox to enable/disable mods (Shared by your local mods directory for player which want to join your lan game) and password (Optional - leave it blank to disable).
Game world will be synced, everybody has the same time, day, weather, traffic lights etc.
Profiles
When you register on ETS2MP website, you will get access to new tab called "Your drivers". You need to create new one before start game, limit for drivers in one ETS2MP account is equal - 2 (If you want to create 3rd you need to remove one of your exist drivers). If you create new driver his profile was created in our database. So, don't worry - you're local profile doesn't be deleted/replaced - all profile data will be loaded into your computer memory and all stats will be stored there. After disconnect from our server all stats will be removed from your computer and stored in our database - so that at next connect it will be stored in your computer again, and sended to server after disconnect. You can edit your profile on the website or in-game. You can also browse other people's profiles.
Companies
There will also be companies in the mod. After joining, you can drive alone and get solo orders or search a job in any existing company - first way it's write application on our website in special tab called "Job" or drive to employment office in game.
Sleeping
Just like in single player, you will also need to catch some sleep in multiplayer once in a while. When your driver sleep, your drive mode will be blocked for 10 minutes. You doesn't need to leave the game, but you can't drive - if you sleeping you will see small panel which allow you to view other players profile. After the 10 minutes of 'sleep', you can drive for another while.
CB-radio
Every trucker has a CB-radio. You can talk to each other through a headset or by normal text chat. The CB-radio's have a reach of a certain amount of miles. So only the trucks near you can read/hear your messages. Just like in real life. Too here will be channels for some languages like PL, ENG etc.
Map
All the drivers that are online at the moment can be seen on the map.
